The smartphone lies in your hand as a dead brick, and you are already mentally calculating the costs of repairs or buying a new one? Take your time, there are 10 tricks and secrets of what to do if your phone won't turn on. Perhaps one of them will help revive your cell phone too!
1. Force restart
Sometimes the smartphone freezes, does not respond to buttons and the screen remains dark. Outwardly, it seems that it simply does not turn on, but in general the device works. Try a forced restart using the keys - most often you need to simultaneously hold down the lock button with the volume.
2. Cooling or heating
If the phone has turned off and refuses to come to life in extreme heat or cold, do not rush to panic. Modern smartphones react much worse than the old push-button models to sudden temperature changes. In the cold they are discharged before our eyes, and in the heat they overheat. If this is the case, try turning on the device again at home when conditions stabilize.
3. Charging check
Perhaps the problem is not in the phone, but in the charging, and then he just finally sat down. Plug in the power cord and the device and see if there are any "signs of life." Wait ten minutes, because if the smartphone is critically discharged, it needs time.
4. Checking the cable and power supply
If the phone still does not respond after the previous method, check with a different cable, outlet and power supply. Maybe you just need to buy a new USB cable.
5. Checking the charging connector
If the connector is clogged or damaged, the phone will not charge with any cable. Some models will turn off immediately if you touch the connector too hard - for example, accidentally trying to insert the cord in the wrong direction. You can clean the dust yourself with a brush, but with serious breakdowns you will have to go to the service.
6. Checking the power button
If, after all the previous tests, charging is in progress, but the device still does not turn on, the power button is probably broken. Maybe it is stuck, flooded with liquid, or mechanically damaged.
7. Removing the battery
It happens that the phone has loose battery contacts. If your smartphone can be disassembled by yourself, carefully remove the cover, take out the battery and wait a minute. Then put the battery back in place and restart the phone. By the way, a swollen or damaged battery must be replaced immediately!
8. Removing the memory card
A rare but probable case is an overflow of a memory card or a specific device incompatibility with it. Usually smartphones freeze, but some models simply turn off to avoid overloading. Try to remove the card completely and start the phone again.
9. Removing programs
Another possible cause is conflicting software. Most often this happens among the owners of smartphones that have been flashed for themselves. Therefore, it is better to use the "native" system and shell, otherwise you will have to contact the service. First, try synchronizing with your computer and manually uninstalling unnecessary programs.
10. Reset settings
If all else fails, then you can try to forcibly "reset" the phone. But in this case, you will have to say goodbye to all settings and data if you did not have a backup. Look in the instructions for your model, what you need to clamp, because different devices have their own combinations. If you had a backup, then just restore it when the phone turns on!
