Cute and romantic paper hearts are a touching gesture of attention that will delight loved ones. You can add them to a gift, put a small souvenir inside or write an unusual note on them. Here's how to quickly and easily make a neat valentine with your own hands!

1. Origami heart for beginners

Take a square sheet of heavy double-sided paper and visually divide it into three parts with verticals. Fold the lower right corner two-thirds, and then bend both sides clearly along it by a third. Expand the part with a corner pocket down and fold down the upper half of the bottom layer. You can spread the top halves to make them more rounded.

2. Heart made of A4 paper

Mark the vertical and horizontal lines of a colored A4 sheet of paper and fold the top corners into a "house". Fold in the bottom corners at the base to make a rhombus, and flip the blanks over to the back. Shape the halves of the heart on all sides and turn the piece over again - done!

3. Bulky paper heart

Fold a square sheet of thick paper in half to mark its axes. Lay the rectangle with the fold down and tuck its edges up, just short of the middle. Wrap the corners again, align and pull them to the center, as in the photo.

Expand each lower segment into an elongated pentagon-petal - these will be the sides of the heart. Turn the workpiece over and form the upper roundness, pressing it towards the center of the shape. Inflate the heart through the small hole in the pointed nose.

4. Heart-bookmark for books

Take a rectangular sheet of brightly colored wrapping paper and fold it in half with the solid side inward. Bend both sides of the "wings" up in the middle of the triangle - you get a kind of inverted house. Turn the blank over, and then shape the roundness of the heart, bending the corners - and you can already put it right on the page!

5. Paper heart with wings

You will need a square sheet of paper with a bright front side and a white back side. Mark its axes, tuck the bottom edge to the middle and unfold the part 180 degrees. Fold the triangle along the sides to make trapezoids, and again flip the piece with the white side up.

Fold the "house", as in the diagram, unfold the workpiece with the colored top down and bend the top layer up. Straighten it into a long elongated trapezoid and form wings from it with an ordinary ladder. Squeeze them well in the center to shape, and turn the heart to face back.

6. Origami heart with a flower

This origami paper heart seems very complicated, but it is enough to start folding it to understand that everything is not so scary. Just stock up on a thin flat popsicle stick or nail file in advance to straighten the petals.

Cut a paper rectangle with an aspect ratio of 2: 1, mark all the midpoints, quarters and diagonals, as in the diagram. Fold the left half of the square in triangles, and unfold the corners of its top layer into squares. Fold the sides of the square to the middle and fold each of them into a rhombus-petal using a thin tool.

Unfold the second petal of the same kind from below, and then repeat everything in a circle for the other half of the heart. If desired, hide the side corners of the shape inward to make it more rounded. A graceful voluminous heart with a flower in the middle is ready!
