It is not recommended to grow flowers on the same site for more than five years. They pull out everything that could be useful from the ground - so periodically it is worth relocating the flower bed.
5. Improper watering
Irises do not need a flood of water and easily tolerate a slight drought, so overflow and associated fungal diseases can be the reason for the lack of flowers. Then the soil must be dried, and the plants must be prophylactically treated with fungicides.
But there is a nuance: a couple of weeks after planting and during the budding period, abundant watering is necessary. And when it is not provided, irises will not bloom in the same way, because the buds simply will not form and grow stronger. 6. Lack of food
The buds do not form, do not bloom or completely fall off, if they do not have enough vital elements. At the first signs of deficiency, urgently carry out a comprehensive feeding, but do not use organic matter.

7. Lack of space
One of the reasons why irises need to be transplanted is their active growth. For a couple of years, the flower bed grows and becomes much denser, so the flowers are simply cramped in a small area. Naturally, they will not bloom in such conditions!
8. Root rot
This is the most dangerous enemy of irises, because it can only be seen a year later. Inspect the root collar and at the first sign of a problem, dig out the flowers, cut off all affected roots, treat with potassium permanganate or fungicides and transplant. Most often, irises rot the next year after a cool and damp summer.
9. Winter frosts
Flowers will not bloom if the irises are frozen over in winter, and this applies even to persistent Siberian varieties. To avoid the consequences, always cover the flower bed with spruce branches or special textiles for the winter.

11. Diseases
Humidity, cramped conditions and freezing are a benign environment conducive to the development of all kinds of fungi. Rot, rust and fusarium kill the entire plant, so that it affects the flowering. 12. Pests
