Origami is a sure-fire way to captivate your child at home or on the road for a few hours. DIY bright multi-colored paper figures delight kids. 1. Cat's face
The smallest ones will surely be pleased with a funny cat's face, which can then be painted over. Fold a square sheet of paper diagonally into a triangle and fold its edges from the base to the middle at a slight angle - these will be the ears. Fold the top down to form the head, turn the workpiece over to the other side and draw or glue the eyes, nose, mustache and mouth.
2. Origami dog
It only seems that a small cute dog is difficult to fold - in fact, even a little one can cope with it. Mark the diagonals of the square and fold all four vertices towards the center to make a smaller square. Turn one corner back and fold the inverted "house" in half.
Unfold the left side diagonally into an asymmetrical rhombus - this will be the head. Tuck the tops slightly to create the ears and nose. Tuck the bottom corners of the base inward for stability, turn the figure over, draw the eyes and paint the nose.
3. Penguin
Mark both diagonals at the square of paper and turn it downward with an angle, and then turn the bottom vertex upward, not reaching 1-2 cm to the center. Put the tip back - it will be the penguin's beak. Flip the origami over and fold the sides of the pentagon so that they completely overlap. Use a ladder to bend the edges back to form the wings, turn the detail over again and draw the eyes.

4. Crab
Mark both midpoints by the square and fold the sides exactly to the center to form an elongated, narrow rectangle. Fold out the top first and then the bottom in a trapezoid. Lift the corners of the lower base of the upper trapezoid up, and then do the same with the corners of the upper base of the lower one. Unfold the ends in a straight line and tuck the top to the same straight line - and flip the part.
5. Paper giraffe
Mark the diagonal of the square and tuck the sides to form an elongated rhombus. Fold the workpiece in half and unfold so that the shortest, straight side is the base. Turn the long top in the opposite direction and shape the head.
To make a giraffe a flat muzzle with a nose, tuck the sharp tip inward. Likewise, fold the tail with a ladder inward, first marking the fold lines. Cut a quadrangle in the center of the base to form the front and hind legs. Color origami with paints or pencils in spots and draw the eyes.
6. Fish
To make an origami fish, first size one large square of paper into sixteen small ones. To do this, bend it in half, and then again in half, unfold, flip it 90 degrees and do the same.
Tuck the bottom corners of the small bottom sections up, and then fold to the center of the sides of the main square. Fold the piece in half and fold back the top with the triangle. Turn it over, turning it from right to left and straightening the sides of the square into "houses".
You will get a pentagon, as in the diagram, which you need to turn over with the straight side up. Fold the top layer into a triangle, and leave the bottom ends sticking out. Form a rhombus and unfold the sides to create a herringbone shape. It remains to turn it over, make eyes and paint the fish with scales.

7. Origami swan
The simplest origami swan that floats on the water can be made from a standard A4 sheet. Fold it diagonally into a right triangle and unfold it back.Tuck the sides to the resulting marking to make an elongated rhombus.
Fold the part in half, unfold the "book" to the left and mark a line along which the body will bend. It needs to be wrapped up so that it surrounds a narrow neck. On the neck, form a head with a beak and spread the swan with your hands.
8. Jumping origami frog
Preschoolers can also cope with the simplest jumping frog, and it is much more interesting than flat applications. Mark the diagonals and the middle of the square and fold an isosceles triangle out of it, tucking the sides inward. Unfold it with the "book" base down and wrap the lower corners of the top layer towards the middle.
Bend them back with a ladder - these are the future legs of the frog. Flip the piece over and fold the corners to make a square rhombus. Unscrew the second legs in the same way with a ladder, and then tuck the lower part up and back with the ladder. Turn the figure over, glue the eyes, and to make the frog jump, press your finger exactly in the center of the base.
9. Paper boat
Fold a rectangular sheet of paper in half with the fold upward, and then fold the upper corners to the middle. Tuck the base of the pentagon on both sides up along the lines where the vertex ends. Pull the center points at the base to the sides and lay the workpiece into a rectangular rhombus, as in the diagram. Fold the bottom triangles up, spread the origami to the sides from the middle again and lower the sides.

10. Windmill
Divide a large square of paper into sixteen small sections by folding it in half and again in half on each side. Fold the opposite sides to the middle, and then spread the upper and lower parts of the elongated rectangle in a trapezoid. Lift up the right side of the upper trapezoid and lower the left side of the lower trapezoid. Spread the blades of the mill with your hands, connect the figure in the center and attach it to a stick or tube.
