All animals need their own living space, so it is imperative to take care of arranging their own corner for them. And your beloved Barsik or Ryzhik - here, too, is no exception! We have collected 11 great ways to make a house for a cat with your own hands from improvised means. Watch and be inspired!
1. We live "on suitcases"
Of course, such a wording does not sound very good, but as for the construction of a house for a cat, it is quite realistic.
Moreover, if you master a little, then you will be able to place not one, but even two cats here. In terms of its structure, such a design will resemble a children's bunk bed.
To create it, you need to divide the old suitcase into two halves and insert supports between them (their role will easily be played by the legs from the old stool). Next, we equip a warm bed. Voila and the "apartment" is ready!
2. "Lyuli-lyuli"
Many young mothers know how much cats love to huddle in strollers and cribs. And this is no accident - after all, it is very warm and cozy there. In addition, our four-legged meowing friends always feel positive energy.
If your child is older, use a stroller basket or crib to set up a cat house. Believe me, your pet will definitely like such apartments!
Now it will be possible to designate the new "owner" of the dwelling with a kind of decor, for example, to embroider a nickname or other identification mark on the hood.
3. House from a cardboard box
It's no secret that all cats love to hide in boxes. You can make an excellent home for your pet using cardboard packaging from technology.
Fold the house according to the diagram, using scotch tape and glue without foreign smells to fix the parts. Now you need to cut out the doors, and, if desired, the windows. Inside, put any insulating material and a pillow or blanket on the bottom (the cat should be warm and cozy).
The top of the house can be decorated with carpet, wallpaper, fabric or any other material. But as practice shows, the whiskered carpets like a lot more.
4. Old clothes come in handy too
If you have a couple of unnecessary T-shirts lying around in your wardrobe, make a house for your cat out of them. For work you will also need: a sheet of cardboard or plywood, thick wire (you can take two wire hangers), two T-shirts, scotch tape.
It is very easy to make such a house! Bend two arcs from the wire and fasten them with tape crosswise at the top point. Paste a square of cardboard around the edges with tape, cover it with a T-shirt and make holes in the corners. Screw the edges of the arcs to the cardboard base. The frame is ready.
Take a second T-shirt and slide it over the structure, but keep the fabric tight. The sleeves can be tucked under the bottom, fastened with pins or sewn on, and the neck will act as an entrance to the house. To make the cat softer, you can put a small pillow on the bottom.
5. "Built-in" house for a cat
If you have an old bedside table, then you can equip a pet house right in it. Get rid of unnecessary drawers or shelves, if any, make a small curtain that will add privacy to the cat.
The inner walls of the curbstone can be upholstered with a soft cloth, and a warm stove bench from a pillow can be arranged on the floor. If the bedside table is closed, then just cut the entrance into one of the walls.
6. House of newspaper tubes
Do not rush to hand over old newspapers for waste paper - they can also be used to build a beautiful house for a cat. In addition to newspapers, you will need knitting needles or wire, glue and scissors.
First you need to form a lot of tubes: take a sheet of newspaper, grease one edge with glue and roll it into a tight tube. When the main building material is ready, start designing. Form a "sun" from knitting needles or wire, fastening the ends together, and braid with tubes. It turned out to be the foundation.
Bend the wire up and continue braiding, not forgetting to leave a gap for the entrance. The house should be large enough for the pet - take any object similar in size to the future "tenant" (for example, a ball) and put it in the middle of the structure. Finally, for reliability, open the structure with varnish.
7. House-tent
Such a dwelling for a fluffy pet is made of cardboard, fabric and foam rubber. To do this, you need to draw a complete blank of the future house on cardboard, and then cut out all the details. Next, we apply the templates to the fabric and foam rubber, cut it out.
Sew each detail one by one, creating several layers: cardboard-foam rubber-fabric. When all the details are ready, assemble them into a single structure.
To keep the cat warm and comfortable, you can separately sew a soft pillow and put it on the bottom of the new house.
8. Technique comes to the rescue
Is your TV or monitor hopelessly broken? It doesn't matter! Now, instead of boring TV programs and dull sites, it will only "show" your cat!
Clean the inside of the TV from parts, the bed is a soft rug - and the cat will be happy to spend all its free time here.
The inner walls of the dwelling can be decorated with fabric, and externally, the house can be painted and the feline identification marks can be depicted.
9. We sew a hammock
Making it as easy as shelling pears as possible! Such an original house for a cat can be hung from the legs of a chair, on a wooden support, or you can use hanger-hangers.
The simplest hammock does not require special schemes. Cut out two identical rectangles from the fabric and sew them. On the sides, you can form "passages" through which you can then thread the ropes-holders. You can also sew separately to the corners of the fabric-loops, for which you will hang the structure.
10. Making a house from plywood
You can make a beautiful house for a cat with your own hands and from construction remnants - plywood, thin boards, etc. You will also need beams that will act as supports of the vertical structure, and fabric for upholstery.
To make the house look like it should, first draw a diagram with all the miscalculations on cardboard and only then transfer them to plywood.
The posts can be wrapped with any twisted rope (jute, hemp, etc.), and for shelves and houses - take a carpet. The main thing is not to use fabrics with a long pile, as over time they will be filled with dust, wool and various small debris.
11. Cozy fabric cat house
A comfortable "nest" for your cat can also be made of fabric and foam rubber. First, draw a template for a wall with a roof on paper. Cut 8 such blanks from the fabric (two for each wall). Four of the same blanks need to be cut out of foam rubber, only the size should be a couple of centimeters smaller. Prepare the bottom separately in the same way.
Then sew each wall from two fabric and one foam (inside) blanks. Do not forget to cut and stitch the opening hole from one edge. Now you can completely sew the structure, along with the bottom. Put a soft rug on the bottom and let your pet go!
