Tracks on two needles without a seam: 6 master classes (video)

Warm and cozy footprints are a real find for the home. This is a great alternative to slippers, because they do not fall off your feet and warm you much better. In them, you can comfortably climb onto the sofa or even go to bed when it gets colder again. And children are so delighted with them! We have prepared for you 6 video master classes on how to knit footprints without a seam and on just two knitting needles!

1. Footprints without seam for beginners

This is the simplest model with which you can start to comprehend the basics of knitting footprints. But at the same time, it is practical and versatile, so it is very convenient to walk in them. Based on this master class, in the future you will be able to create more complex variations with interesting patterns.

Take a skein of acrylic or acrylic wool thread 250/100 g, number 3 needles and markers for convenience. To accurately calculate your number of loops, knit a small piece with the front satin stitch and calculate how many pieces fit in a centimeter.

In the video you will find all the formulas for calculating the length, width, toe height and other parameters. Work starts from the top - the so-called plank. Both the front and back sides are knitted with regular front knitting. Last but not least, sew the heel over the hem loops to avoid the need for seams.

2. Striped footprints with jacquard pattern

For such tracks, a rectangle is tied, narrowed in the area of the toe. The toe will need to be pulled together and connected to the desired landing depth for your rise, and so that you feel comfortable. There will be no seam on the sole, so that nothing rubs, does not press and does not cause inconvenience.

You will need two skeins of thread 200/50 g of different colors and knitting needles number 4. It is more convenient and faster to knit in two folds, and the tracks will turn out denser, warmer and more durable. For size 36-37, you need a canvas 19 cm high and 20 cm wide, of which 5 cm goes to the toe.

For this size, density and type of thread, cast on 48 loops and leave a longer tail. You then use it to connect the toe. The pattern is knitted in this way: 3 front loops, remove 1 loop and stretch the thread behind it. Do not tie 12 loops to the end of the canvas - this will be your sock, which you will pull off later.

3. Footprints with a pattern and decorative heel

The first thing that catches your eye is a beautiful sock with an unusual pattern that resembles lacing. It is complemented by a striking textured heel without a single seam and irregularities. The smooth outsole is very quick and easy to knit and does not get in the way while walking.

For two tracks, you will need incomplete two skeins of yarn 220-240 / 100 g in two additions on needles 3-3.25. Finished footprints stretch well, so take this into account when calculating the size. For sizes 38-39, you will need 44 loops, which you first need to knit with the front two rows.

After that, start making video increments so that the track sits well on your foot. In the process, you will clearly form a sole made of regular smooth knit. Be sure to pay attention to how to shape the heel - for this you will combine your work loops with the finished edges.

4. Footprints with a geometric pattern

This is a fairly large master class, but don't be intimidated, because its charm is that you will see the entire workflow from start to finish. Therefore, you can just leave the video in the background and peep at it in any situation if it seems to you that something went wrong.

For such beautiful geometric tracks, you need acrylic yarn of about 315/100 g in two colors and knitting needles number 3. The upper part is knitted with one fabric, and the sole and heel - separately. Thanks to this, you will not have an uncomfortable seam on your foot, which is constantly rubbing and causing discomfort.

For a shoe with a sole length of 23-24 cm, cast on 61 loops and knit the first 10 rows with regular garter stitch. After that, change the color and start knitting the pattern according to the detailed instructions in the video. Then, to knit the backdrop, cast on the loops along the side edge of the same fabric and continue.

5. Openwork footprints without a seam

This is a beautiful patterned model with an openwork pattern, but it is also easy to handle! To do this, you will need acrylic yarn 200/50 g in one thread on the needles number 3. Two such beautiful decorative footprints can be made literally in one day for any occasion.

For size 37, first cast on 26 stitches and work in regular garter stitch. In the video you will find a detailed scheme of the pattern both in the form of a picture and in the process of work. A neat toe and heel are obtained by picking up the side edges with the knitting needles.

6. Pigtailed footprints

When you are tired of simple, smooth footprints, this model with a textured pigtail will surely delight you. Despite the presence of a pattern, making them is not particularly difficult than regular smooth ones. To do this, just follow the weaving of the picture from the video - and you will definitely succeed!

The yarn of 240/100 g is well suited, and to make the tracks even softer and more comfortable, choose acrylic threads from the special children's series. Calculate the knitting density with your threads - the number of loops of 1 or 10 cm vertically and horizontally.

The optimal outsole length is 23.5 cm for size 37 or 24 cm for size 38, but remember that the knit stretches well. And to make it stronger and denser, knit in two additions with needles number 3.
